In a remarkable demonstration of bravery and compassion, Lieutenant Shrang Singh from the Dot On Target Division showcased the core values of the Indian Army by rescuing a civilian from a serious road accident on September 19, 2025, near Mundhal, Rohtak, in Haryana.

While en route during a routine movement, Lt Shrang Singh stumbled upon an overturned vehicle on the roadside, shrouded in darkness. Without a moment’s hesitation, he rushed to the site, assessing the precarious situation and prioritizing the safety of those trapped inside the wrecked car.

Inside the vehicle was a woman identified as the spouse of a retired Havildar from the 7 JAT Regiment. Despite the inherent dangers associated with the overturned car, Lt Shrang Singh demonstrated remarkable courage. He climbed into the unstable vehicle, carefully extricating the injured woman while ensuring she remained calm and unharmed throughout the distressing ordeal.

But Lt Shrang Singh’s commitment did not end with the rescue. He went above and beyond by securing the woman’s personal belongings from the wreck and making sure they were returned to her safely. The officer stayed at the scene until she was reunited with her family, exemplifying the Army’s principle of “Service Before Self.”

Eyewitnesses to the scene praised the young officer’s swift actions and empathetic demeanor, which played a pivotal role in preventing the situation from deteriorating further. The incident serves as a poignant reminder that the duty of soldiers extends beyond battlefields; they remain vigilant protectors in everyday life, always ready to assist and uphold the highest ideals of humanity.
