Lieutenant General RC Tiwari, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Eastern Command, recently visited the Blazing Sword Division at the Missamari Military Station. The visit aimed to assess the division’s operational preparedness and to inaugurate a newly established facility dedicated to drone technology—the Gajraj Drone Nursery.
During the visit, Lt Gen Tiwari received a comprehensive briefing on the division’s operational capabilities, readiness levels, and ongoing initiatives aimed at enhancing mission effectiveness within the Eastern theatre. The highlight of the visit was the inauguration of the Gajraj Drone Nursery, a state-of-the-art facility designed to promote indigenous drone fabrication and innovation, reflecting the Army’s commitment to self-reliance in emerging technologies.
Lauding the vision behind this initiative, Lt Gen Tiwari encouraged the team to transform the Drone Nursery into a Force Multiplier and a Centre of Excellence for the Eastern Command. He expressed that such efforts would significantly contribute to the Indian Army’s ongoing technological transformation and modernization projects.
In addition to the inauguration, the Army Commander engaged with personnel from all ranks stationed at Missamari Military Station, commending their professionalism, dedication, and unwavering commitment to service. He stressed the critical importance of maintaining high levels of operational readiness while urging the troops to uphold the core values of the Indian Army, especially in the context of adapting to emerging technological landscapes.
