In a significant advancement for military healthcare in India, Major General Lisamma PV has taken on the role of Additional Director General of the Military Nursing Service (MNS). The formal ceremony marking this transition occurred in New Delhi, ushering in a new chapter for the organization under her leadership.
Hailing from Kollam, Kerala, Maj Gen Lisamma brings nearly 40 years of comprehensive experience to her new position. She was commissioned into the MNS in 1986 after completing her nursing training at the Military Hospital in Jalandhar. Since then, she has consistently served with distinction in various crucial roles, including her tenure as Principal of the College of Nursing at CHAF Bangalore and as Principal Matron at the esteemed Army Hospital (Research & Referral) in Delhi.
Her career is backed by a robust academic foundation, with Maj Gen Lisamma holding degrees in Arts, Law, and Hospital Administration. This diversity reflects the Military Nursing Service’s commitment to academic excellence and multifaceted leadership. Her extensive experience in clinical practice, nursing education, and administrative responsibilities uniquely equips her to lead the MNS amid the increasing complexities of military healthcare.
