The Military College of Telecommunication Engineering (MCTE) in Mhow recently recognized its 79th Raising Day, celebrating nearly eight decades of dedication and excellence in developing leaders for communication and information warfare within the Indian Armed Forces. The festivities occurred on October 1, 2025, and were filled with ceremonial pride.
The day began with a poignant wreath-laying ceremony at the War Memorial, attended by Lt Gen Vivek Dogra, the Commandant of MCTE and Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Signals. This solemn event paid tribute to the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the nation. In recognition of the significant contributions made by personnel within the Corps of Signals, several distinguished individuals were honored, underscoring the Corps’ commitment to excellence and dedication.
Following the ceremony, the celebrations shifted to an energetic showcase of military prowess. A variety of thrilling displays captured the attention of all present. Notable highlights included a dramatic Daredevils Motorcycle Display, an exhilarating aerial show featuring microlights and power hang gliders by The Mountain Eagle Team, and a spectacular skydiving demonstration led by Lt Col Mayank Nagpal. These displays not only showcased the skill and courage of the Indian Armed Forces but also delighted a diverse audience consisting of veterans, officers, and members of the MCTE community.
As the institution approaches its 80th year, MCTE reaffirms its role as a leading center for military communication and technology training, emphasizing its vital contribution to preparing the Indian Army to meet the challenges of modern warfare in a digital age.
