The young Indian army officer Lieutenant Manisha Bohra of the Army Ordnance Corps becomes the first woman to lead its all-male AOC contingent at the Rajpath parade on Republic Day 2022. The third-generation army officer speaks exclusively to SSBCrack about her journey to success.

Lieutenant Manisha Bohra belongs to Khuna Bora village in Champawat district, Uttarakhand, Lt. Manisha became the 1st woman army officer from her village to take a commission in the armed forces. Lt. Manisha Bohra did her schooling at Army Public School RK Puram in Secunderabad after which she studied BSc in Biotechnology, Genetics, and Chemistry from Osmania University. She has cleared the UPSC CDS and AFCAT exam in her first attempt and finally joined the OTA Chennai after clearing the NCC Special Entry SSB Interview in which she achieved the AIR-3 rank. She also won the Miss OTA Chennai Award during her training.

In 2018 she shared her success journey with SSBCrack and she said” I cleared both CDS and Afcat and got recommended in both SSBs in the first attempt. But I was not able to get in the top merit. So this year I tried with NCC entry and worked a lot during this period and finally, I got recommended from 18 SSB Allahabad on 24 April. and I got the results on 14 and I was so happy to see that I was AIR-3. SSB crack was also an inspiration for me as every time I used to see others’ success stories I would work more hard and determined to achieve my goal.”

The success journey of Lieutenant Manisha Bohra will motivate many defence aspirants to join the armed forces.
