As part of Operation Sadbhavana, a National Integration Tour took place on November 6, 2025, featuring 20 students along with 4 teachers from the border districts of Rajouri and Poonch. The visit to the School of Artillery (SoA) in Deolali was designed to broaden the participants’ perspectives, instill national pride, and provide firsthand experience of the Indian Army’s operational and training environment.
During the visit, the students engaged in an inspiring interaction with the Commandant of the School of Artillery. This exchange emphasized essential values such as leadership and discipline while also highlighting various career opportunities within the Indian Armed Forces. The Commandant encouraged the students to dream big, boost their confidence, and nurture a spirit of service and unity, vital components for the development of young minds.
The delegation was given a guided tour of the state-of-the-art training facilities at SoA, where they explored advanced simulation systems, instructional halls, and equipment integral to gunnery training. Students were informed about the critical role of artillery in national defence and its evolution alongside modern technology, providing a comprehensive understanding of the military’s capabilities.
The visit culminated in an exhilarating live artillery firing demonstration, which left an indelible mark on the students. Witnessing the precision and professionalism displayed by the Indian Army’s gunners instilled admiration and respect, offering them a unique glimpse into the operational prowess of the armed forces.
Operation Sadbhavana aims to promote unity, education, and mutual understanding among border communities and the larger population of the country. This tour not only served as an educational excursion but also showcased the Army’s commitment to empowering youth from remote areas, fostering a profound sense of belonging within the nation. Through initiatives like these, the Indian Army continues to inspire the younger generation, nurturing a spirit of integration and patriotism.
