A new Pediatric & Sedation Dental Clinic has been inaugurated at the Indian Naval Dental Centre (INDC) Danteshwari, enhancing dental care services specifically for the naval community. The clinic was opened on April 15, 2025, by Surgeon Rear Admiral KM Adhikari, the Command Medical Officer of the Western Naval Command (WNC).
This state-of-the-art facility is outfitted with an advanced inhalational sedation unit, alongside essential monitoring and emergency equipment to cater to children of all ages, including those with special needs. The design prioritizes creating a safe and comfortable environment, employing innovative therapeutic treatment options like behavior management and anxiolysis to help alleviate anxiety in young patients during dental procedures.
Additionally, the clinic is integrated with the Extended Integrated Care (EIC) system at INHS Asvini, the largest hospital of the Indian Navy in Mumbai. This strategic collaboration aims to enhance the quality and comprehensiveness of dental care available to the children of naval personnel, responding to the crucial demand for specialized pediatric dental services within the armed forces.
Since its commissioning on December 12, 2018, at Colaba, Mumbai, INDC Danteshwari has established itself as a vital provider of multi-specialty dental care. The introduction of this new clinic reinforces the center’s mission to ensure patient safety, comfort, and access to the most advanced dental healthcare practices. This development further showcases the Indian Navy’s unwavering commitment to the health and well-being of its personnel and their families.
