In a significant display of respect and recognition, the Northern Command held a grand Investiture Ceremony at its headquarters, presided over by Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief. This event was dedicated to honoring acts of gallantry and distinguished service among members of the Indian Army.
A total of 52 individual awards were presented, celebrating the extraordinary bravery displayed by soldiers in various situations. In addition to these individual accolades, 41 unit citations were awarded to different Army units for their outstanding operational performance, reflecting the high standards of excellence within the armed forces.
The ceremony served as a powerful reminder of the courage, dedication, and professionalism exhibited by those in uniform. Many of the awardees have operated in challenging and high-risk environments, showing a level of commitment that goes beyond the call of duty.
Lt Gen Sharma paid heartfelt tribute to the honorees, commending their selfless service. He emphasized that the gallant actions and exceptional contributions of these soldiers not only merit recognition but also serve as an inspiration to future generations.
