Officer Cadets from the Officers Training Academy in Gaya recently concluded a visit to the Junior Leaders Academy (JLA) in Bareilly on December 27, 2025, as part of their ongoing professional exposure and leadership development programme.
This visit provided the Cadet Officers with an invaluable opportunity to understand the pivotal role that JLA plays as a premier training institution dedicated to developing Junior Leaders within the Armed Forces. During their time at the academy, the cadets were introduced to the various instructional methodologies, training philosophies, and leadership development frameworks that JLA employs to enhance operational excellence and to cultivate effective battlefield leadership.
A significant highlight of the visit was the interaction with Brigadier Gaurav Kapoor, the Commandant of JLA. Brigadier Kapoor underscored the critical importance of Junior Leaders in determining unit cohesion, decision-making, and overall combat effectiveness, particularly in the contexts of contemporary and future battlefields. He explained that adaptable and well-trained junior leaders form the very backbone of success in increasingly complex and dynamic operational environments.
This exposure aligns closely with the Indian Army’s commitment to providing comprehensive officer training that prepares future leaders.
