The Officers Training Academy (OTA) in Chennai organized an exhilarating multi-activity display on March 6, 2026, serving as a precursor to the upcoming Passing Out Parade. This event aimed to highlight the training proficiency and physical excellence of the officer cadets, showcasing their readiness to embark on their military careers.
The display featured a wide array of dynamic demonstrations, each designed to reflect the rigorous training that cadets undergo at the academy. Participants exhibited impressive physical training skills alongside the Army Martial Art Regime (AMAR), illustrating the combat readiness and discipline expected from future officers of the Indian Army.
Among the highlights of the event were stunning equestrian performances that showcased not only precision riding but also impeccable coordination among the cadets. Adding cultural depth to the display, performances of Kalaripayattu, one of India’s oldest martial arts traditions, captivated the audience and emphasized the rich heritage that complements modern military training.
The program reached a thrilling climax with a vigorous bunker-bursting combat drill, which infused an energetic and dramatic finale that left the crowd enthralled.
Lieutenant General Michael A.J. Fernandez, Commandant of OTA Chennai, honored the participants for their exceptional skills, dedication, and professionalism demonstrated throughout the display. His commendation underscored the rigorous standard upheld at the academy.
This multi-activity display served to showcase not only the physical endurance and combat skills developed by the cadets but also their leadership qualities, all essential as they move towards being commissioned as officers in the Indian Army. The event reinforced the academy’s commitment to training capable and resilient leaders prepared to face the challenges of military service.
