The Passing Out Parade for Agniveers of the Indian Army’s Corps of Signals took place today at the 2 Signal Training Centre in Goa, with the ceremony being reviewed by Shri Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju, the Honourable Governor of Goa.
During the event, the newly trained Agniveers were formally commissioned into service, emerging as technologically adept soldiers specializing in information warfare and communications. The Corps of Signals highlighted its dedication to equipping these young recruits, referred to as “Info Warriors,” with advanced skills necessary for adapting to the demands of modern warfare. This focus on training marks a significant effort to prepare soldiers for the complexities of contemporary battlefield situations, emphasizing discipline and commitment to national service.
In his address, the Honourable Governor expressed his commendation for the Agniveers’ achievements. He also recognized the vital role played by their families, whom he acknowledged as essential pillars of support that empower soldiers to uphold the esteemed traditions of the Indian Army. His remarks underscored the collaborative effort between service members and their families in maintaining the force’s operational readiness and morale.
The parade is a testament to the ongoing implementation of the Agnipath scheme, which aims to recruit and train youth for short-term service, ultimately contributing to the development of a future-ready military force. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to enhance the Indian Army’s capabilities by integrating younger, skilled personnel.
The event featured traditional formal group photographs, showcasing the reviewing officer, senior military personnel, and the newly commissioned Agniveers against the backdrop of the training centre’s ceremonial arch. This successful parade not only marks a significant achievement for the Agniveers but also stands as a milestone in fortifying the Indian Army’s signals and communication competencies, positioning it for the challenges ahead.
