He is a distinguished alumnus of multiple prestigious military institutions, including the Naval College of Engineering, the Naval War College in Goa, and the National Defence College in Kenya.
His academic credentials are noteworthy; Rear Admiral Alam holds an M.Tech and a PhD in Electronics and Telecommunication. Throughout his extensive career, he has been involved in a variety of afloat, staff, yard, and command positions. His contributions have been significant in areas such as warship engineering, systems integration, and the enhancement of naval capabilities.
