Surya Drona Tech 2025, recognized as India’s premier event for showcasing advancements in drone and unmanned systems technology, officially commenced today in Dehradun. The inauguration was graced by Uttarakhand’s Honorable Governor, Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Retd). Organized by the Central Command of the Indian Army in collaboration with the Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM), this two-day event aligns seamlessly with India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat mission, which aims to foster self-reliance in defense innovation and manufacturing.
The inauguration ceremony attracted a diverse audience, including senior military officials, dignitaries from the government, and key figures from the industry. Lt Gen Anindya Sengupta, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Surya Command, emphasized the expo’s role as a crucial gathering point for the armed forces and the domestic defense sector. Indian companies are exhibiting a diverse range of innovative solutions, such as night imaging systems, autonomous platforms, and self-heating materials designed for extreme operational conditions. These advanced technologies aim to enhance the operational capabilities of the Indian Army across various challenging terrains.
