What is Territorial Army?
The Territorial Army is part of Regular Army, and its present role is to relieve the Regular Army from static duties and assist civil administration in dealing with natural calamities and maintenance of essential services in situations where life of the communities is affected, or the Security of the Country is threatened and to provide units for Regulars Army as and when required.
Eligibility for Territorial Army 2023
•Nationality: Only citizens of India (male and female).
•Age Limits: 18 to 42 years as on last day of filing of application i.e., 19 Dec 2023.
•Educational Qualifications: Graduate from any recognized university.
•Physical Standards: A candidate must be physically and medically fit in all respects.
•Employment: Gainfully Employed.
NOTE: Serving member of the Regular Army/ Navy/ Air Force/ Police/ GREF/ Para Military and like forces are not eligible.
Educational Qualifications
(a) Essential QR.
(i) B Tech Computer Science/ Computer Engineering/IT & Telecom, B Sc (Computer Science/IT) with min 60% grades or equivalent from recognized university.
(ii) Certifications in any One More Under Mentioned Fields: –
(aa) Web application security and penetration testing (OSCP, OSEP, OSWA, OSWE). (ab) Red Teaming Ops (CRTP, CRTE). (ac) Computer Networks and Information System. (CCNA, CEH, LPT). (ad) Cloud Computing (Azure A 500, AWS Cloud Security Specialty). (ae) Mobile Application Development (Android), experience in Mobile development using Java/Kotlin/Flutter react Native.
(b) Desirable QRs.
(f) M Tech in Computer Science or Cyber Security.
(g) Work experience in cyber field for 2 years or more is preferred.

Selection Procedure for Territorial Army 2023
Phase I: Document Check. Benchmarking of candidates will be done based on qualification for preparation of merit list & issuing call letter for written test
Proficiency Test.
Phase II: Written Test (100 Marks). Only candidates scoring 60% and above in objective type written test will qualify for Practical Test.
Phase III: Practical Test (100 Marks). Candidates qualifying in Practical Test will be called for Interview.
Phase IV: Interview (300 Marks). Interview by Board of Offrs at Directorate General of Territorial Army.
Recommended candidates will undergo Medical Examination at Armed Forces Clinic, New Delhi followed by their Police Verification for final selection..
Standard and Syllabus
Written Test. The syllabus will consist of Network Security, Operating System Security, Cryptography and Encryption Techniques, Cyber Threat Intelligence, Incident Response and Handling, Penetration Testing, Secure Coding Practices, Cyber Laws and Regulations, Log Analysis and Forensics, Network Forensics, Audits and Compliance, Vulnerability Assessment, Wireless Penetration Testing, Wireless Networks Security, Cloud Security, Industrial Control Systems (ICS) Security, Social Engineering Attacks and Countermeasures, Mobile Application Security, Threat Modelling and Risk Assessment, Malware Analysis and Detection, Social Media Security, Web Application Security, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Threat Hunting and Analysis and Cloud Infrastructure Security.
Practical Test. It will be conducted inform of CTF (Catch the flag) event with focus on Solving of Challenges in the domains of Threat Intelligence, Cryptography, Web Application Security, Forensics, Reverse Engineering, Malware Analysis, Threat Intelligence and Network Incident Response etc. A candidate will participate in CTF using his/her pers laptop, so each candidate has to carry his pers laptop for Practical Test.
•Candidate will be tested for his/ Tech skills, Problem solving abilities, Time Management, etc.
•Internet connectivity will be provided to all candidates by conducting team.
Embodiment for Training.
•Six months Pre-Commission Training as provided in TA Rule 20A amended vide SRO 65 dt 29 Apr 2023. (Candidates shall be commissioned in TA only on successful completion of the said Pre-Commission Training).
•Two months annual training camp every year if not continuously embodied for six months in a training year (01 April -31 March).
