Turkish-built radio frequency (RF) jammers have officially entered service with the United Nations, thanks to ASER Technology’s recent acquisition of an international contract aimed at equipping armored vehicles with locally developed electronic warfare systems.
ASER Technology, a company specializing in satellite communications, electronic warfare, and radar technology, secured this contract in a competitive bidding process that included several larger global firms. This achievement signifies a significant step for ASER Technology in the realm of international defense contracts, as reported by Anadolu Agency.
Following the completion of extensive testing and training, ASER has delivered RF jammers specifically designed to enhance the protection of armored vehicles involved in African peacekeeping missions. These advanced systems are crucial for safeguarding personnel against remote-triggered attacks, drone threats, and other electronic vulnerabilities.
General Manager Ertan Murat highlighted the innovative features of the new-generation jammer, noting its capacity for full-spectrum interference. This capability extends across 4.5G and 5G networks, navigation bands, and frequencies used for drone control, while also boasting improved range and threat-detection capabilities.
The integration of ASER Technology’s systems into the UN inventory represents a significant milestone for the firm. The RF jammers were officially handed over to a partner nation contributing troops to UN operations in Africa, marking a notable achievement in the context of global peacekeeping efforts.
Turkey’s advancement into the realm of electronic protection for UN vehicles plays a part in a broader network of suppliers that support UN peacekeeping missions. Numerous international companies have been actively supplying armored vehicles and related technologies for deployment in various UN operations.
For instance, Thailand’s Chaiseri Defence has provided “First Win 4×4” vehicles for Bhutan’s contributions to peacekeeping efforts in the Central African Republic. In addition, Ukrainian manufacturer AvtoKrAZ has successfully delivered 4×4 and 6×6 trucks tailored for UN missions, thereby enhancing logistics and support capabilities. Firms like TAG Dynamics have established long-term partnerships to supply armored vehicles to various UN entities, ensuring ongoing collaboration in the pursuit of global peace and security.
