The US State Department has sanctioned the foreign military sale of Leonardo AW119Kx helicopters to Bosnia and Herzegovina, a move that signifies a strengthening of ties between the two nations. This substantial package, estimated at around $100 million, encompasses not just the aircraft, but also comprehensive training programs, in-country field service assistance, and essential aviation and ground support services.
While the exact number of helicopters involved in the deal remains undisclosed, the initiative signifies a long-term commitment to enhancing military capabilities in the region. The program will include the deployment of up to five representatives from the US government along with seven contractors to Bosnia and Herzegovina, tasked with a five-year support and training operation.

The helicopter can achieve altitudes exceeding 4,500 meters (14,764 feet) and has a top speed of 150 knots (278 kilometers per hour), with a commendable operational range of 515 nautical miles (954 kilometers).
