AFCAT 2 2014 was recently held on 31/August/2014. Around 1 00 000 students have attempted the exam this time. This AFCAT was different from the previous ones considering the fact that EKT exam was held with the normal AFCAT exam. EKT is held to select engineering students [electrical, electronic, technical and IT] for technical branches in Indian aired force. AFCAT 2 cut off marks are discussed henceforth.

Verbal section
In verbal section antonym and synonym were little tough and words like ‘bellow’ ‘inequity’ and ‘intrepid’ were asked which are quite tough unless one has practised vocabulary extensively. Passage asked was also not straight forward, the passage was little logical in nature. Though compared to the last AFCAT this was little easier this time. Questions asking for meaning of a ‘Phrase’ were easy.
G.K section
There were 4 question from history and other from geography, civics, sports and books all in just 15 questions, and this GK section was tough and a specific and intense practice is need.
So G.K and Verbal section were tougher and students are expected to score less
G.K and Verbal section complainingly get around 60 questions and students will get around 60 to 65 marks.
Mathematics section
Mathematics was in the expected pattern, and with practice one can easily score good but there were some hard questions also. Like the one shown in the following diagram.
10 out of 15 was an easy score this time. Expected average mark is 21-24.
Spatial section
Spatial section was easiest this time and student could have easily scored 15 out of 20. This section has easily increased the cut-off marks single highhandedly. There was a new type of question added this time but it was easy.
Spatial ability was easier and the average mark will be around 42-46 marks.
After analyzing AFCAT 2 cut off marks and its trend, it is clear that a definite and specific practice is need to clear AFCAT exam.

EXPECTED DATE OF AFCAT-2 2014 RESULT?????
Indian air force has not announced any particular day for the AFCAT result but it is expected within next 7 to 8 days that is before 25th this month

sir, im from electronics and communication background..but in EKT they gave COMPUTER..is it test for basic computer knowledge test or computer science branch syllabus questions?????
Dont worry mostly the ekt syllabus for ECE, EEE and CSE is same.
If we score just above cut off marks in afcat.Do we have chance to select in ssb?
Only above and equal to cut off marks candidate will get the ssb interview letter.
