RIMC Cadets at NDA

RIMC, located in Dehradun, India, is a prestigious military school for boys. Established in 1922 by Prince Edward VIII as the Prince of Wales Royal Indian Military College, it aims to provide young boys aged 11.5 to 13 years with a public school education and training to prepare them for the Indian Armed Forces. The college serves as a feeder institution for the National Defence Academy (NDA) and Indian Naval Academy (NAVAC).

Administered by the Ministry of Defence through the Army Training Command (ARTRAC), RIMC spans a 138-acre campus and enrolls 250 cadets. Admission is highly competitive, with candidates selected through a national exam held twice a year. Approximately 50 students are admitted in each intake.

RIMC offers education from 8th to 12th standard, emphasizing the science stream at the +2 level while also teaching social sciences to prepare cadets for the UPSC exam for entry into NDA. The college has a stellar track record, with 60-90% of its cadets advancing to NDA each year.
