WNC CONDUCTS HIGH-LEVEL MEETING

  • Tri-services discussions on the modalities and structural framework for the creation of Integrated Theatre Commands for the Indian Armed Forces were held under the aegis of Western Naval Command at Mumbai.
    • This is yet another milestone towards building jointness and enhancing organisational synergy among the three Services.
    • A total of nine Commanders-in-Chief from the Indian Army, Navy, IAF & ANC, came together for a high-level meeting to discuss and deliberate on various aspects related to setting up of the Integrated Maritime Theatre Command.
    • The meeting was chaired by Vice Adm Ajendra Bahadur Singh

SENIOR MEN NATIONAL CYCLE POLO CHAMPIONSHIP

  • Air Force Sports Control Board has always endeavoured to achieve excellence in sports and believes in professional indulgence. The AF teams have put forth noteworthy performances at all possible events/championships.

MUTUAL EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

  • Indian Navy and HAL signed a ‘Mutual Expression of Interest’ to facilitate Faculty Exchange Program between Naval Institute of Aeronautical Technology, Kochi, and HAL Management Academy, Bengaluru.
  •  Aim to facilitate the development of key skill sets amongst trainees to help them imbibe the latest aviation technologies and Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul management through the conduct of short-term, long-term & capsule courses, guest lectures, workshops & conferences.
  • The ‘Mutual Expression of Interest’ was signed by RAdm Deepak Bansal, VSM, Assistant Chief of Naval Staff (Air Materiel) and Dr G Srikantha Sharma, General Manager & Head of HAL Management Academy during the 3rd IN-HAL Apex Level Meeting in presence of V.Adm. Ravneet Singh, PVSM, AVSM, NM, Deputy Chief of Naval Staff and Shri MS Velpari, Director (Operations), HAL. The staff and trainees of both the Institutes would be immensely benefited through this exchange.

25% of Defence R&D budget For Domestic Industries

DG NCC Visited Goa & Karnataka

  • Lt Gen Gurbirpal Singh, AVSM, VSM, DG NCC, being presented a Guard of Honour on his arrival to NCC Karnataka and Goa. He inspected the Guard and complimented the cadets for the high standards displayed.
  • The NCC was formed in 1948 (on the recommendation of H. N. Kunzru Committee-1946), and has its roots in British era uniformed youth entities like University Corps or University Officer Training Corps.
  • NCC is the largest uniformed youth organisation in the world. It enrolls cadets at the high school and college level and also awards certificates on completion of various phases.
  • The NCC falls under the purview of the Ministry of Defence and is headed by a Director-General of three-star military rank.
