DRDO successfully test fires Enhanced Pinaka Rocket & Enhanced Range 122mm Caliber Rocket

• Twenty-five Enhanced Pinaka Rockets were launched in quick succession against targets at different ranges. These were the extended range indigenously developed versions and were launched from a Multi-Barrel Rocket Launcher (MBRL) on 24^th and 25^th June 2021 at Integrated Test Range (ITR), Chandipur off the coast of Odisha. 
• The rocket system has been developed jointly by Pune based Armament Research and Development Establishment (ARDE) and High Energy Materials Research Laboratory (HEMRL) with manufacturing support from M/s Economic Explosives Limited, Nagpur. The development of Enhanced Pinaka system was taken up to achieve longer range performance.
• Four enhanced range indigenously developed version of 122mm rockets were also test fired from a Multi-Barrel Rocket Launcher (MBRL) on June 25, 2021, at Integrated Test Range (ITR), Chandipur off the coast of Odisha with full instrumentation and they met the complete mission objectives.

Western Air Command Commanders’ Conference

• The two-day Station Commanders’ Conference of Western Air Command was held on 24 and 25 Jun 21 at New Delhi.
• It was conducted in a hybrid mode where a few of the commanders attended through video tele conferencing. ACM RKS Bhadauria, CAS, was the chief guest and was received by Air Marshal VR Chaudhari PVSM AVSM VM, AOC-in-C WAC.

Army Chief Visits Army Training Command at Shimla

• He was briefed on a range of issues including strategic – military futures, doctrinal corrections, operational challenges and preparedness, technological infusion and training pedagogy.
• The COAS was apprised about several initiatives being undertaken to make professional military education (PME) more contemporary and responsive to current challenges.
• General Naravane also called on His Excellency Shri Bandaru Dattatreya, the Hon’ble Governor of Himachal Pradesh and discussed issues of mutual interest.

Raksha Mantri reviews progress of construction of first Indigenous Aircraft Carrier at Kochi

• He was appraised of the progress achieved on integration of several other navigational, communication and operational systems since then, as it prepares for its maiden Contractor Sea Trials (CST) which is expected in the forthcoming months.
• The IAC would be commissioned as INS Vikrant in the first half of 2022, which would be the most potent sea-based asset.
• The ship shall operate MiG-29K fighter aircraft, Kamov-31 Air Early Warning Helicopters, the soon to be inducted MH-60R multi-role helicopter and the indigenously manufactured Advanced Light Helicopters.
• It would offer an incomparable military instrument with its ability to project Air Power over long distances, including Air Interdiction, Anti-Surface Warfare, offensive and defensive Counter-Air, Airborne Anti-Submarine Warfare and Airborne Early Warning.
• Raksha Mantri interacting with 10-year-old Veer Kashyap, a student at Navy Children School Kochi who won Pradhan Mantri Bal Puraskar 2021 for developing an innovative board game ‘Corona Yuga’, at Kochi on June 25, 2021.

25 June 2021 – International Seafarers Day

• You can define a seafarer as literally being someone who is employed to serve aboard any type of marine vessel.
• The campaign seeks to raise awareness of the work seafarers have done during the pandemic and to thank them for their contribution. It also encourages people to treat them with respect and dignity so they can continue the good work they have been doing.
