Defence Secretary Holds Interaction with Defence Industry
- Defence Secretary Dr Ajay Kumar held an interactive session on promoting Defence Exports with the stakeholders of the Defence Industry on 27 January 2022. More than 500 Defence industries from across public and private sectors, including Industry Associations and Defence, Attaches from Indian Missions abroad participated in the session.
Prime Minister to Address NCC PM Rally At Cariappa Ground On 28 January
- Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will address the National Cadet Corps PM Rally at Cariappa Ground in Delhi on 28th January 2022 at around 12 Noon.
- At the event, Prime Minister will inspect the Guard of Honour, review March Past by NCC contingents & also witness the NCC cadets displaying their skills in army action, slithering, microlight flying, parasailing as well as cultural programs. The best cadets will receive medals and baton from the Prime Minister.
‘Leveraging Artificial Intelligence for Indian Navy’
- Indian Navy’s premier technical training institute INS Valsura organised a workshop on the contemporary topic ‘Leveraging Artificial Intelligence (Al) for Indian Navy’.
- Conducted under the aegis of Southern Naval Command, speakers from renowned IT Companies like Google, IBM, Infosys, and TCS shared the industry perspective during the three-day event.
Pakistan ‘not completely optimistic’ of Taliban govt in Kabul: NSA
- Briefing the National Assembly Standing Committee for Foreign Affairs, National Security Adviser Moeed Yusuf spoke about the threat posed to Pakistan by the presence of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in Afghanistan.
- “Organised terrorist networks are still operating in Afghanistan and the Afghan soil is still being used against Pakistan,” he said.
North Korea Fires Two Suspected Missiles In 6th Launch In 2022
- North Korea on Thursday fired two suspected ballistic missiles into the sea in its sixth round of weapons launches this month.
- North Korea has upped its testing activity recently in an apparent effort to pressure the Joe Biden administration in the US amid long-stalled nuclear talks.
Chinese PLA Hands Over Missing Arunachal Boy To Indian Army
- The 17-year-old boy from Zido in the Upper Siang district of Arunachal was reportedly captured by PLA across the LAC on January 18.
- Taron has been handed over to the Indian Army by Chinese PLA at Wacha-Damai (Kibithu) in Anjaw district on the eastern part of the state.
INS Sudarshini Celebrates 10th Anniversary
- INS Sudarshini is a sail training ship built by Goa Shipyard Limited for the Indian Navy. The ship is a sister ship of INS Tarangini which was commissioned in 1997. “Sudarshini” means “beautiful lady Sundari”.
- Sudarshini’s steel hull was launched on 25 January 2011 at the port town of Vasco da Gama, Goa on the west coast of India.
Decommissioned ‘Khukri’ Handed Over to Diu Administration
- Built by Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders, the ship was commissioned on 23 August 1989, 32 glorious years of service to the nation.
- The ship is planned to be developed as a full-scale museum.

- The United States Navy is scrambling to retrieve F-35, its most advanced fighter jet, which crashed in the depths of the South China Sea.
- This race to get back the USD 100 million warplane is an extremely complex operation that experts say will be closely monitored by Beijing, America. The F-35C, the newest jet in the US Navy fleet, crash-landed on the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson during routine operations on Monday.

- A 12-year-old girl, who is studying at Navy Children School has been awarded the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar 2022 under the open water swimming category, the highest award for citizens below 18 years.
- Jiya Rai, the Class 8 student, swam 36 km in 8 hours and 40 minutes on February 17, 2021.
