3 UP Naval Unit NCC Cadets Secure 1st Position in 7 Events at Inter-Group Competition in Prayagraj

In a remarkable display of talent and dedication, cadets from the 3 UP Naval Unit NCC, situated in Lucknow, have claimed the top spot by securing first place in 7 out of 9 events during the recent Inter-Group Competition (PNSC) camp held in Prayagraj. This impressive outcome is a testament to the rigorous training regimen the unit has adhered to since January 2025.

The success is largely attributed to the strategic guidance of Commander Gaurav Shukla, the Commanding Officer of the naval unit. Under his leadership, cadets engaged in comprehensive preparation, covering a wide array of AINSC events. These included critical areas such as service subjects, drill, semaphore, boat pulling and rigging, swimming, seamanship practicals, and ship modeling. The discipline and hard work exhibited by both the cadets and the training staff proved to be pivotal in achieving excellence at the Inter-Group Competition.

In recognition of this outstanding accomplishment, a felicitation ceremony took place at the NCC Group Headquarters in Lucknow on July 18, 2025. The event was honored by the presence of Brigadier Puneet Srivastava, VSM, the Group Commander of NCC Group HQs Lucknow. During the ceremony, he commended the cadets for their commitment, discipline, and pursuit of excellence, highlighting the relentless efforts of the training team. Brigadier Srivastava encouraged all participants to maintain their momentum and aim for high performance at the upcoming All India Nau Sainik Camp (AINSC) in Lonavala, set to commence this September.

The event also featured the presence of the Deputy Commander, the Training Officer, and the Commanding Officer of 3 UP NU NCC, along with the Commanding Officer of the 66 Battalion from Raebareli. They collectively underscored the significant support provided by NCC Group HQs Lucknow and reaffirmed the unit’s commitment to fostering future leaders of the nation. The unwavering spirit and accomplishments of the cadets from the 3 UP Naval Unit serve as an inspiration, as they continue to strive towards greater heights in their training and development.
