In a significant leadership transition, Shri Gyanendra Pratap Singh has taken over as the Director General of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), succeeding Shri Vitul Kumar at the CRPF Headquarters. Prior to his new role, Shri Gyanendra Pratap Singh served as the Director General of Police (DGP) of Assam, thereby bringing a wealth of experience from his background in the Assam-Meghalaya cadre. His appointment was officially authorized by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, following a proposal from the Ministry of Home Affairs. As outlined in the official order, Singh will serve in this position until his superannuation on November 30, 2027, or until further directives are issued.
