The 15th All India Police Commando Competition (AIPCC) concluded in Gurugram, with Maharashtra Police taking home the prestigious title of overall champions. The competition, which ran from February 10 to February 22, 2025, was organized by the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and took place at the CRPF Group Centre. This year’s event brought together 21 teams, comprising 663 personnel, including 44 gazetted officers from Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and various state police departments.
The closing ceremony was presided over by Tapan Kumar Deka, Director of the Intelligence Bureau and Chairman of the All India Police Sports Control Board. He praised the commandos for their dedication, resilience, and exceptional tactical skills, referring to them as “the nation’s shield.” The rigorous competition tested the physical and tactical capabilities of the commandos, providing an opportunity for them to showcase their readiness and commitment to national security.
Maharashtra Police was awarded the coveted Winners Trophy, while the Border Security Force (BSF) secured the first runner-up position, with the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) following closely behind as the second runner-up. Individual performances were also highlighted during the event, with Constable Wolbetstar Ramsiej of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) winning the Cheetah Run Trophy, a recognition awarded for remarkable speed and agility.
In addition to the main competition, a standalone sniper challenge took place, where the National Security Guard (NSG) claimed the Gold medal, with Maharashtra Police taking the Silver and Rajasthan Police earning the Bronze. Deka personally presented the trophies to the winners, commending their outstanding skills and contributions to ensuring the country’s safety.

He remarked on the event’s demonstration of the unparalleled courage and tactical finesse displayed by the commandos, who are tasked with safeguarding the nation.
The event not only attracted participants from across the nation but also drew spectators eager to witness the showcasing of elite paramilitary capabilities. The 15th AIPCC underscored the critical role played by CAPFs and state police in upholding national security. Previous editions of the competition were held in Visakhapatnam and organized by the NSG; however, this year marked a milestone as it was the first time the CRPF hosted this esteemed competition in Gurugram, reinforcing the city’s reputation as a hub for showcasing India’s commando excellence.
