An Indian Air Force (IAF) helicopter was forced to make an emergency landing near Changa village in the Jamnagar district of Gujarat on Monday morning due to a suspected technical snag. The incident took place around 11:00 AM, close to the Rangmati Dam, which is situated approximately 22 kilometers from the Jamnagar Air Force Station.
Superintendent of Police Premsukh Delu confirmed that the emergency landing was executed as a precautionary measure after the helicopter encountered technical issues while airborne. Fortunately, no injuries were reported among the crew or any civilians in the vicinity at the time of the landing.
Upon receiving the alert regarding the emergency situation, personnel from the Indian Air Force, along with local authorities, swiftly arrived at the scene to assess the situation. Following thorough technical inspections of the helicopter, it was deemed serviceable and was safely flown back to its base.
In light of the incident, IAF officials have initiated an investigation to ascertain the precise cause of the malfunction. The prompt response and expert management of the emergency ensured that there was no danger to either those on board the helicopter or to individuals on the ground.
