Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan recently visited the Chandimandir Military Station, engaging in discussions with Lieutenant General Manoj Kumar Katiyar, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Western Command, along with senior staff officers. This visit is part of General Chauhan’s ongoing assessment of the strategic operations being conducted under Operation Sindoor.
During his visit, General Chauhan received an extensive briefing on the various kinetic and non-kinetic punitive actions undertaken by the Western Command as part of the operation. The Army Commander provided a detailed overview of the current operational environment, the defensive measures in place, and the significant mission outcomes achieved along the strategically sensitive borders of Jammu and Punjab.
Recognizing the challenges posed by the operational terrain and the nature of emerging threats, General Chauhan acknowledged the exceptional performance of field formations. He highlighted their high levels of preparedness and the synergy exhibited in executing critical tasks under pressure. The CDS specifically commended the timely and coordinated efforts of the Western Command, noting that these actions played a crucial role in the success of Operation Sindoor.
In his remarks, General Chauhan underscored the importance of sustained vigilance and the need for enhanced joint efforts among the armed services to effectively address and counter evolving threats along the Western Front. His visit reaffirmed the critical nature of cross-service coordination in maintaining national security in a rapidly changing security environment.
