1,634 Agniveervayu Trainees Celebrate Successful Completion of Training at Airmen Training School in Belagavi

A significant milestone was celebrated at the Airmen Training School (ATS) in Belagavi, where a total of 1,634 Agniveervayu trainees completed their foundational training and graduated in a ceremonial Passing Out Parade. This event marks the conclusion of a rigorous 22-week training program under the Indian Air Force’s Agnipath scheme.

The ceremony unfolded under a clear sky, emphasizing the discipline and dedication exhibited by the new recruits, who included both men and women. Air Vice Marshal PCP Anand, Senior Officer-in-Charge-Administration at Headquarters Training Command, presided over the event, commending the trainees for their hard work and commitment. He also presented awards to exceptional performers in various categories, celebrating their achievements.

The backdrop for the parade, which read “Passing Out Parade Agniveervayu Intake 01/2025,” highlighted the Indian Air Force’s ongoing commitment to inclusivity and modernization. This particular batch is noteworthy for its gender diversity, underscoring the Air Force’s objective to integrate skilled women into both combat and support roles, reflecting a progressive approach in military norms.

The Agniveervayu program is an initiative under the Agnipath scheme, launched by the Government of India in June 2022. This program aims to recruit youthful individuals, aged between 17.5 and 23, for a four-year service period, with the goal of developing a leaner, tech-savvy military force. The training regimen at ATS encompasses a comprehensive blend of physical fitness, military discipline, and technical skills vital for air operations.

The Airmen Training School, originally established in 1942 by the Royal Air Force during World War II, boasts a rich history. Since becoming a Joint Basic Phase Training center in 2001, it has continued to equip future air warriors with the skills necessary for modern aerial defense.

As families and dignitaries gathered, the atmosphere was filled with pride and anticipation. The ceremony concluded with a group photograph of the award-winning trainees, encapsulating this moment of achievement and the promising future that awaits them as defenders of the nation’s skies. The Indian Air Force reaffirmed its dedication to maintaining high training standards for Agniveers, ensuring they are prepared on par with regular personnel, as it builds a dynamic and youthful military force.
