Havildar Sunil Kumar Yadav, a soldier from Chausa village in Bihar’s Buxar district, has tragically lost his life after a prolonged battle for survival in a military hospital. He was critically injured during a Pakistani drone attack following Operation Sindoor and succumbed to his injuries despite extensive medical treatment.
Sunil was stationed in the Rajouri sector of Jammu & Kashmir when his unit came under fire from a Pakistani drone on the night of May 9. Initially treated in Rajouri, his condition deteriorated, prompting an airlift to the Army Hospital in Udhampur on May 15. Medical personnel worked tirelessly to stabilize him; however, the severity of his injuries ultimately proved fatal.
His passing underscores a troubling trend of increasing casualties among soldiers from Bihar during and after Operation Sindoor, an operation characterized by frequent skirmishes, drone strikes, and militant encounters in the region.
Among other soldiers from Bihar who have made the ultimate sacrifice are:
– Mohammad Imtiaz, a BSF sub-inspector from Narayanpur in Saran district, who died from injuries sustained due to Pakistani firing. His funeral on May 12 attracted thousands of mourners.
– Rambabu, a soldier from Siwan district, was killed in action just three months after his wedding, leaving his young wife behind.
– Sikandar Raut, a BSF jawan from Nalanda district, lost his life during a gunfight in Kupwara shortly after being transferred from Ranchi amidst escalating hostilities.
– Santosh Yadav, a havildar from Bhagalpur, was martyred during a search operation in the Nowshera sector, with his family being informed of the loss on May 20.
These sacrifices highlight the bravery and dedication of the youth from Bihar, many of whom serve on the most perilous frontlines. As the state mourns the loss of another son in the line of duty, the nation collectively honors the courage and commitment of soldiers like Sunil Yadav, who serve as sentinels of peace amidst ongoing conflict.
