Kamalpreet Singh, a native of Shaheed Baba Deep Singh Nagar in Kapurthala, Punjab, has achieved a significant milestone by being commissioned as a Flying Officer (Aeronautical Engineer) in the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF). Kamalpreet, a former student of Central and Army Schools in Kapurthala, pursued his engineering degree at the DAV Institute of Engineering and Technology (DAVIET) in Jalandhar. Prior to his migration to Australia on a work permit in 2017, he began his professional career at the Goindwal Power Plant in Punjab. Over the span of seven years working as an engineer, he officially became an Australian permanent resident and subsequently acquired citizenship.

His journey culminated recently when he completed the Initial Officer Course at the Officer Training School in Sale, Victoria, which qualified him for an officer’s commission in the RAAF. In an interview with the media, Kamalpreet expressed his pride in this achievement, stating, “This commission continues the proud tradition of military service in our family. I am honoured to serve and contribute to the safety and security of my adopted country.”

Kamalpreet’s father, Sewa Singh, along with other family members, expressed immense pride in his accomplishments, recalling his childhood dreams and interests related to military life. The family has a rich history of service, with both Kamalpreet’s father and great-grandfather having been members of the Indian Army. Additionally, his elder brother, Sarabjit Singh, is currently serving in the New South Wales Police Force in Australia.
