Paras Anti Drone Technologies, a subsidiary of Paras Defence and Space Technologies, has secured a significant export agreement to supply sophisticated counter-unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) systems to the French company CERBAIR. The agreement, valued at an impressive Rs 22 crore, includes the delivery of up to 30 CHIMERA 200 systems, which are designed to effectively neutralize rogue drones and drone swarms.
The CHIMERA 200 system is acclaimed for its field-proven design and upgradeable platform, featuring extensive wideband detection and neutralization capabilities. It operates across a frequency spectrum of 400 MHz to 6 GHz, supporting both omnidirectional and directional surveillance, with the ability to engage up to five simultaneous frequency bands. This versatile system allows for the rapid identification of aerial threats, including drones and their accompanying remote controls, thereby enhancing security against modern UAV challenges.
This deal marks a significant milestone in India’s emergence as a strong player in the global high-end defence technology market. Paras Anti Drone Technologies indicated that the agreement aligns with the Indian government’s Make-in-India initiative, which aims to reach USD 5 billion in annual defence exports by the year 2025.
CEO Ashutosh Baheti expressed that this partnership is a strong indication of India’s growing reputation as a trusted provider of advanced anti-drone solutions. He reiterated the company’s commitment to delivering systems that meet international standards through extensive testing and scalability.
In correspondence regarding the deal, CERBAIR President Lucas Le Bell emphasized the increasing demand for such advanced systems in Europe. He pointed out the significance of enhancing neutralization capabilities to effectively counter sophisticated drone technologies in real-time, especially given the current security dynamics influenced by the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
The CHIMERA 200, which has already been implemented in critical infrastructure within India, is poised to play a pivotal role in enhancing Europe’s defense mechanisms against evolving security threats. This collaboration is anticipated to pave the way for additional export ventures and strengthen cooperative efforts well into 2026 and beyond.
Amit Mahajan, Director at Paras Defence and Space Technologies Ltd, affirmed that India is transitioning from mere licensed manufacturing to becoming a global nucleus for designing and exporting reliable and cost-effective defence technologies.
