Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Northern Command, recently undertook a significant visit to the strategically vital Bimber Gali Brigade to evaluate the operational readiness of Indian Army units stationed along the Line of Control with Pakistan.
Accompanied by senior officers from both the White Knight Corps and the Ace of Spades Corps, the visit underscored the Indian Army’s unwavering commitment to maintaining tactical superiority and heightened alertness in one of the most sensitive areas of Jammu and Kashmir. Bimber Gali, located in the Poonch district, is a crucial junction that has experienced over 100 ceasefire violations since the agreement implemented in 2021, as noted in recent military assessments.
During his visit, Lt Gen Sharma engaged with soldiers of various ranks, commending their discipline, vigilance, and high morale. He emphasized the need for sustained readiness and adaptive strategies to address both conventional and asymmetric threats in the region. His address to the troops highlighted the significance of professionalism and the incorporation of modern warfare techniques into their operational frameworks.
A focal point of the operational briefing was the Ace of Spades Corps, renowned for its elite status and historic lineage that dates back to World War II naming traditions. This Corps is viewed as a critical asset for rapid deployment and managing high-stakes operations along the Line of Control.
Lt Gen Sharma’s robust experience, particularly from his previous role as Director General of Information Warfare, allows him to provide a strategic approach that blends both kinetic and non-kinetic tactics.
