Since you are a working professional with only Saturdays & Sundays available for SSB Interview prep, we’ve designed a focused 60-Day (approx. 8-week) Weekend Plan. This ensures you cover all 3 SSB Testing Stages (Screening, Psychology, GTO, Interview) with structured practice, without burnout.

Structure:

  • 8 Weeks = 16 Days (Sat & Sun)
  • Each weekend has one theme (Psychology / GTO / PI / Screening).
  • Includes revision + self-assessment tasks.
  • Weekdays: Only light revision (30–45 mins, e.g., reading news, diary writing).

WEEK 1 & 2 – FOUNDATION

Day 1 (Sat): Self-Assessment & Screening Basics

  • Fill Self-Reflection PIQ sheet (background, family, education, job, hobbies).
  • Practice 2 PPDT stories (write & narrate).
  • News review: Defence + National issues (15 min).

Day 2 (Sun): Psychology Basics

  • Write 4 TAT stories on random pictures.
  • Do 15 WAT responses (positive, action-oriented).
  • Start SRT practice (10 situations).
  • Evening: Write daily self-observation journal.

WEEK 3 & 4 – DEEP DIVE (PSYCHOLOGY & PI)

Day 3 (Sat): TAT & WAT Intensive

  • Write 6 TAT stories (focus on OLQs: courage, leadership, responsibility).
  • Practice 25 WAT words.
  • Reflect: Which OLQs are missing? (Self-checklist).

Day 4 (Sun): PI Preparation – Personal & Job Profile

  • Mock PI round with 20 questions (job, motivation, family).
  • Revise Current Affairs – Defence + India’s Neighbours.
  • Self-recording: Watch your answers & note body language.

WEEK 5 & 6 – GTO & LEADERSHIP PRACTICE

Day 5 (Sat): GTO Group Tasks (Indoor Practice)

  • Practice Group Discussion (GD) on 2 topics.
  • Do Group Planning Exercise (GPE) problem-solving.
  • Brainstorm obstacles (draw maps, plan strategy).

Day 6 (Sun): PI & Psychology Mix

  • Write 4 TAT stories again (revision).
  • Attempt 15 SRT situations (time-bound).
  • Mock PI (focus: Why Defence? Why leave job?).

WEEK 7 & 8 – SCREENING & SIMULATION

Day 7 (Sat): Screening Simulation

  • Do PPDT full cycle: Story writing (4 min), narration (1 min), group discussion (simulate with peers/friends).
  • Practice OIR (Officer Intelligence Rating) test: 40 questions (reasoning + verbal).

Day 8 (Sun): Mock PI & Final Revision

  • Attempt a full PI round (50 questions: personal, job, current affairs).
  • Revise Defence awareness: ranks, academies, new deals.
  • Evening: Self-reflection – “What 5 OLQs do I show naturally?”

WEEK 9 & 10 – INTENSIVE REHEARSAL

Day 9 (Sat): Psychology Full Set

  • Write 12 TAT stories (simulate actual test).
  • Write 60 WAT words (time-bound).
  • Attempt 25 SRT situations (within time).

Day 10 (Sun): GTO Simulation

  • 2 GD topics (record + self-assess).
  • GPE with map drawing & narration.
  • Practice command task logic (assign roles, problem-solving).

WEEK 11 & 12 – FINAL POLISH

Day 11 (Sat): Screening + PI Rehearsal

  • Screening mock test (OIR + PPDT cycle).
  • 20 rapid-fire PI questions (confidence & clarity).

Day 12 (Sun): Full-Day Mock SSB Simulation

  • Morning: Psychology full battery (TAT, WAT, SRT, SD).
  • Afternoon: GTO (GD, GPE, obstacle logic).
  • Evening: PI (recorded).
  • Night: Reflection & improvement checklist.

Self-Assessment Checklist (Every Weekend)

✅ Did my answers reflect positive OLQs (courage, leadership, responsibility, adaptability)?
✅ Did I stick to time limits (TAT: 3.5 min/story, WAT: 15 sec/word, SRT: 30 sec/situation)?
✅ Was my narration in PPDT clear, confident & structured?
✅ Did I read current affairs this week (India + Defence + International)?
✅ Was my fitness routine maintained (running, push-ups, stamina)?

Tracker Format (Fill Weekly)

  • Psychology: No. of TAT/WAT/SRT attempted ✔
  • PI: No. of questions answered confidently ✔
  • GTO: GD/GPE attempts ✔
  • Screening: OIR accuracy % ✔
  • Fitness: Km run + push-ups + stamina level ✔

By the end of 60 days, you’ll have:

  • Written 50+ TAT stories, 400+ WAT responses, 200+ SRTs.
  • Attempted 4+ full PI mocks & 6+ GDs.
  • Completed 2 Screening simulations.
  • Built habit of defence awareness + OLQs demonstration.
