60 Day Weekend SSB Interview Preparation Plan for Students

Plan Structure: WEEK 1 & 2 – FOUNDATION Day 1 (Sat): Personal Foundation Day 2 (Sun): Screening Basics WEEK 3 & 4 – PSYCHOLOGY START...

Plan Structure:

  • Total Days = 30 (Sat & Sun only, ~15 weekends)
  • Each weekend = 2 focused tasks + 1 reflection task
  • Weekdays (Mon–Fri) → Only light tasks (30 mins: read defence news, practice WAT words, short run).

WEEK 1 & 2 – FOUNDATION

Day 1 (Sat): Personal Foundation

  • Fill PIQ (Personal Information Questionnaire) neatly.
  • Write 5 TAT stories.
  • Reflection: Identify your top 5 strengths.

Day 2 (Sun): Screening Basics

  • Practice OIR Test (50 Qs reasoning/verbal).
  • Write 2 PPDT stories (narration aloud).
  • Record narration for self-check.

WEEK 3 & 4 – PSYCHOLOGY START

Day 3 (Sat): TAT & WAT

  • Write 6 TAT stories.
  • Write 20 WAT responses.
  • Self-check: Did responses show OLQs?

Day 4 (Sun): SRT & Self-Description

  • Solve 20 SRTs (time-bound).
  • Draft your Self-Description (5 paras: Parents, Teachers, Friends, Yourself, Goals).
  • Reflection: Which OLQs are naturally visible?

WEEK 5 & 6 – PERSONAL INTERVIEW FOCUS

Day 5 (Sat): PI Round 1 (Personal + Job)

  • Mock PI: “Tell me about yourself, job, family, why defence?”
  • Practice 15 PIQs (role model, weakness, why leave job).
  • Reflection: Confidence & clarity rating (1–10).

Day 6 (Sun): PI Round 2 (Current Affairs)

  • Revise 5 defence current affairs + 5 national news.
  • Practice 15 rapid-fire questions.
  • Record answers & note body language.

WEEK 7 & 8 – GTO INTRODUCTION

Day 7 (Sat): GD & Lecturette

  • Practice 2 GD topics (self or with group).
  • Prepare 2 Lecturette topics (3 min each).
  • Reflection: Fluency & confidence rating.

Day 8 (Sun): GPE & Command Task Logic

  • Solve 1 Group Planning Exercise (map).
  • Brainstorm obstacle solutions (log, plank, rope).
  • Reflection: Did you show leadership approach?

WEEK 9 & 10 – SCREENING & REVISION

Day 9 (Sat): Screening Mock

  • OIR 50 Qs (time-bound).
  • PPDT full cycle: write, narrate, discuss.
  • Reflection: Story quality & narration clarity.

Day 10 (Sun): Psychology Revision

  • Write 4 TAT, 20 WAT, 10 SRT (time-bound).
  • Revise Self-Description draft.

WEEK 11 & 12 – FULL INTEGRATION

Day 11 (Sat): Psychology Full Set

  • TAT: 12 stories.
  • WAT: 40 words.
  • SRT: 20 situations.

Day 12 (Sun): PI Mock + GTO Mix

  • Mock PI (30 questions).
  • 1 GD + 1 Lecturette.
  • Reflection: OLQs checklist.

WEEK 13 & 14 – FINAL POLISH

Day 13 (Sat): Screening + PI Mix

  • OIR mini-test (30 Qs).
  • PPDT story + narration.
  • 20 PI questions.

Day 14 (Sun): Full Mock Simulation

  • Morning: Psychology set (TAT + WAT + SRT + SD).
  • Afternoon: GD + GPE.
  • Evening: Mock PI (50 Qs).
  • Reflection: Strengths & last improvements.

WEEK 15 – FINAL REVISION

Day 15 (Sat): Quick Revision Day

  • Revise TAT themes, WAT word bank, 20 SRTs.
  • PI prep: family/job/current affairs.

Day 16 (Sun): Confidence & Mindset

  • 1 GD + 1 Lecturette.
  • 10 rapid-fire PI questions.
  • Relaxation, visualization, fitness jog.

Weekly Reflection Checklist

  • Did my answers reflect positive OLQs?
  • Did I stick to time limits?
  • Was I clear & confident in narration/PI?
  • Did I cover 5 defence & 5 national current affairs?
  • Did I maintain fitness routine?

By the end of 60 days (15 weekends), you’ll have:

  • Written 50+ TAT stories, 250 WAT responses, 150+ SRTs.
  • Attempted 5+ mock PIs, 6 GDs, 3 GPEs.
  • Completed 3 Screening simulations.
  • Built habit of self-reflection + OLQs demonstration.
