The Shapta Shakti Command is accelerating the enhancement of its capabilities in drone warfare and counter-unmanned aerial systems (C-UAS), utilizing homegrown technology and collaborating closely with civil defense industries. This initiative aims to establish a comprehensive, layered defense strategy against evolving aerial threats.

Troops across various command stations are participating in intensive counter-drone and C-UAS training exercises. These sessions focus on validating tactical doctrines, streamlining sensor-to-shooter timelines, and enhancing coordinated command-and-control workflows. The training places a strong emphasis on the rapid detection, identification, and neutralization of hostile unmanned systems, while maintaining the operational flexibility of friendly forces.

The initiative boasts several key features:

  1. Theatre-level Command and Control (C2) Architecture: This system integrates local tactical units with higher command authorities, enabling quick decision-making processes, crucial for effective engagement during operations.

  2. Operational-level Solutions: Developed in collaboration with domestic defense contractors and civil industry partners, these solutions bolster indigenous manufacturing capabilities and improve adaptability in the field.

  3. Targeted Force Structures: Units are tailored and trained for specific mission profiles, including reconnaissance denial, base defense, convoy protection, and mass-saturation scenarios, ensuring they are well-prepared for diverse operational challenges.

  4. Layered Defense Mechanisms: The program combines a variety of tactics—including radio frequency (RF) jamming, kinetic interceptors, electronic warfare strategies, and sensor fusion—to support high-confidence engagement decision-making.

According to command planners, these exercises are designed to rigorously test new concepts in realistic scenarios and refine doctrines suited for future conflict landscapes increasingly defined by unmanned systems. By prioritizing Atmanirbharta, or self-reliance, along with fostering strong partnerships between industry and the military, the Shapta Shakti Command is dedicated to deploying combat-ready units equipped with innovative, domestically-sourced solutions. These units are intended to deter and counter sophisticated drone threats effectively.
