Participants of the Higher Defence Management Course (HDMC) 21 visited the Headquarters of Sapta Shakti Command on 17 November 2025, as part of their ongoing exposure to the operational-level functioning of field formations. The visit aimed to familiarize the officers with the Command’s operational philosophy, preparedness mechanisms, and evolving strategic frameworks.
During their time at the Command, senior officers provided the participants with an in-depth briefing on several key topics. They discussed the operational environment, logistics dynamics, and the employment philosophy of the Command, offering a comprehensive overview of how large formations operate both in war and peacetime. These discussions emphasized the Command’s strategy for integrating modern technologies, refining battle procedures, and maintaining high readiness across diverse terrains and operational spectrums.
The session covered important themes such as the conduct of Multi Domain Operations, ongoing capability development initiatives, and the continuous upskilling of personnel to address future security challenges. This exchange of ideas proved invaluable for the future leaders, enhancing their understanding of joint operations, modern conflict dynamics, and the need for organizational adaptability.
Moreover, the visit highlighted Sapta Shakti Command’s dedication to nurturing professional military education, fostering operational awareness, and preparing officers for higher leadership roles within the Indian Armed Forces. The engagement not only deepened the participants’ insights but also reinforced the importance of strategic planning and execution in military operations.
