Three officers currently enrolled in the prestigious Higher Defence Management Course (HDMC-21) undertook a visit to Tezpur as part of their forward area tour. The primary objective of this visit was to gain a comprehensive understanding of the operational and logistics framework associated with the Gajraj Corps, specifically within the context of high-threat, high-altitude operational environments.
During their visit, senior staff officers of the Gajraj Corps conducted detailed briefings, elucidating the intricacies of operational preparedness and the sustainment challenges that the Corps faces. The discussions also shed light on the integrated logistics mechanisms that facilitate seamless operations across the Eastern theatre, emphasizing the complexity of maintaining readiness in such demanding terrains.
The officers were introduced to the Corps’ strategic approach to capability development and employment philosophy. They were informed about the evolving requirements shaped by the dynamic security situation in the region, highlighting the need for continuous adaptation in military strategy.
A key part of the visit included an address from Lt Gen Gambhir Singh, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of Gajraj Corps. He provided a thorough overview of the current operational security scenario and discussed the future implications for India’s eastern borders. Lt Gen Singh underscored the significance of adaptability, foresight, and coordinated planning in successfully navigating the evolving strategic landscape.
The visit wrapped up with a stimulating and interactive professional discussion, which offered the HDMC-21 officers invaluable insights into operational art, leadership perspectives, and the intricate realities involved in managing operations within the Eastern Command theatre. These exchanges are expected to enhance their abilities as future leaders in the Indian Armed Forces, equipping them with practical knowledge and strategic vision necessary for modern military challenges.
