Lt Gen Navin Sachdeva, the Chief of Staff of Headquarters Surya Command, recently visited the 510 Army Base Workshop to assess its critical functions in providing base-level engineering support to the Indian Army. The visit included a comprehensive briefing on the workshop’s extensive maintenance operations, emphasizing its significance in sustaining vital military platforms.
During the visit, Lt Gen Sachdeva praised the personnel for their outstanding contributions to depot-level maintenance of strategic assets across all three branches of the armed forces. He particularly noted the workshop’s increased focus on indigenisation, which aligns closely with the national goal of Atmanirbhar Bharat. This initiative aims to decrease reliance on foreign equipment and boost self-sufficiency in defence production.
Additionally, Lt Gen Sachdeva commended the workshop for its unwavering commitment to quality, innovation, and technological advancements. He engaged in discussions with the personnel, motivating them to further enhance their engineering capabilities in order to adapt to the evolving challenges of modern warfare and logistics support.
