Air Marshal Jeetendra Mishra, the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Western Air Command, conducted an extensive visit to Air Force Station Faridabad on December 10, 2025. The primary objective of his visit was to evaluate the station’s operational readiness and to review various welfare initiatives currently in place.
Upon his arrival, Air Marshal Mishra was welcomed by Group Captain V. Viswanathan, the Station Commander. During a briefing, Group Captain Viswanathan provided insights into key operational activities, highlighted administrative improvements, and discussed efforts aimed at enhancing overall efficiency at the station.
A significant highlight of Air Marshal Mishra’s visit was his attendance at the Passing Out Parade for the No. 80 Explosive Detection Dog Course held at the Air Force K9 School. He expressed admiration for the institution’s commitment to training excellence and noted the integration of innovative techniques in preparing canines for explosive detection tasks. The newly trained explosive detection dogs are set to be deployed across various operational units, thereby bolstering security and counter-threat capabilities within the Indian Air Force.
Additionally, the Air Marshal conducted a thorough inspection of the station’s major logistics facilities. His assessment focused on the efficiency of storage, warehousing, and supply chain processes that are vital for supporting frontline air operations. He emphasized the critical need for maintaining high levels of logistical readiness, which is essential for rapid response during operational contingencies.
As the Indian Air Force progresses in modernizing its combat, surveillance, and air mobility assets, Air Marshal Mishra highlighted the significance of such field visits. They are key in identifying real-time challenges, enhancing inter-unit coordination, and reinforcing mission preparedness across all operational units.
