Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth, the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Southern Command, made a significant visit to the Vadodara Military Station to assess the operational readiness of the First In Battle Air Defence Brigade. This visit underscored the Indian Army’s commitment to maintaining frontline preparedness.
During the inspection, Lt Gen Seth received comprehensive briefings on the recently acquired state-of-the-art radar systems that have been integrated into the brigade’s operations. These advanced radars are expected to significantly bolster the formation’s surveillance capabilities and enhance overall airspace management.
In addition to the radar systems, the Army Commander reviewed a cutting-edge repair facility that has been established to ensure the sustainability of intensive air defence operations. This facility aims to facilitate rapid equipment maintenance, thereby increasing operational availability and endurance during missions.
Lt Gen Seth expressed commendation for the brigade’s exemplary performance, particularly highlighting its pivotal role during Operation SINDOOR. He praised the unit for maintaining a high level of mission readiness while successfully incorporating advanced and niche technologies into its operational framework.
The Army Commander’s observations on the brigade’s professionalism and effective technological integration showcased the Indian Army’s dedication to operational excellence. He emphasized that these qualities are crucial in reinforcing the layered air defence posture of the Indian Army, enabling it to effectively counter evolving aerial threats.
