The Indian Army and the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) have taken significant steps to bolster their operational readiness against terrorism through a recently concluded two-week training program. Conducted at the Aundh Military Station in Pune, the training spanned from January 19 to January 31, 2026, and involved the active participation of 100 CISF personnel.
This specialized course aimed to elevate tactical skills and refine response strategies, equipping CISF members to deal effectively with complex counter-terrorism situations. The training was meticulously structured, emphasizing practical drills, operational coordination, and mission-oriented preparedness, essential for tackling emergency scenarios.
In a notable culmination of the training, a Joint Mock Drill was organized to assess and enhance inter-agency coordination and counter-terror readiness. This comprehensive exercise brought together an array of stakeholders, including the Indian Army, CISF, Force One, State Police, Fire Department, Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), Bomb Squad, and representatives from the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA). The drill simulated a realistic operational setting, allowing the agencies to validate their response protocols and test their interoperability.
Additionally, the event featured an AMAR (Army Martial Arts Routine) demonstration performed by CISF personnel, highlighting their physical fitness, combat skills, and overall readiness achieved through the intensive training.
The training program attracted attention from senior leadership within the CISF, including Shri Padmakar S. Ranpise, Additional Director General (South), Shri Abhishek Goyal, Inspector General (West Sector), and Smt. Mamta Rahul, Deputy Inspector General (WZ-1). These officials engaged with trainees and officers from the Indian Army and other participating forces, commending the high standards of training and the focus on collaborative preparedness.
The successful execution of this training initiative and the subsequent mock drill underscored a shared commitment between the Indian Army and CISF to fortify inter-agency cooperation, enhance counter-terrorism capabilities, and ensure a coordinated response to the increasingly complex security landscape.
