Major General Sanil Mohan has officially taken on the role of Commandant at the Command Hospital (Southern Command) in Pune, effective February 1, 2026. This appointment marks a significant step forward in the leadership of one of the Indian Army’s foremost tertiary care medical facilities.
An accomplished alumnus of the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Major General Mohan has completed both his undergraduate and postgraduate studies at the institution. His impressive credentials include his tenure as a highly respected Professor of Anaesthesiology and a skilled Instructor in Trauma Care. Through his career, he has accumulated a wealth of clinical, academic, and administrative experience.
Before his latest appointment, Major General Mohan served as Brigadier Medical with the Sudarshan Chakra Corps. In that role, he was instrumental in enhancing medical readiness and improving trauma response capabilities, particularly in challenging operational environments.
