Parsons Corporation Secures $125 Million Contract with US Army for High Performance Computing Services

Parsons Corporation has been awarded a significant five-year contract worth $125 million by the US Army Combat Capabilities Development Command Army Research Laboratory. This partnership marks a substantial commitment to enhancing the Army’s technological capabilities through the High Performance Computing Modernization Program and the Defense Research and Engineering Network.

As part of this initiative, Parsons will provide a range of services, including advanced work that utilizes artificial intelligence and machine learning in the realms of information processing as well as network and communications science. The scope of the contract encompasses crucial areas, such as test and evaluation, infrastructure operations, and program management.

In addition, Parsons is tasked with providing essential functions like system administration, cybersecurity, and database management to support high-performance computing resources and research networks. Dr. David Tyler, Vice President of C5ISR Solutions for Parsons, remarked that this award highlights the company’s ongoing commitment to innovation and excellence in its support of the US Army.

Parsonsโ€™ engagement extends beyond its collaboration with the Army. The company has been involved with other branches of the US armed forces, illustrating its multifaceted role in defense initiatives. In a notable partnership last year, the US Air Force worked with Parsons to develop a directed-energy explosive ordnance disposal system that can be integrated onto the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle. This project is part of a broader effort by Washington to modernize its Recovery of Airbase Denied by Ordnance capabilities, employing vehicle-mounted laser systems designed to efficiently clear unexploded munitions from airfields and other contested environments.

Looking ahead, Parsons has teamed up with Rafael’s US subsidiary to jointly pursue a contract with the US Marine Corps in 2024. This initiative will focus on counteracting small unmanned aerial systems that may target military installations. The proposed solution targets the growing challenge of hostile drones and is based on Rafaelโ€™s Drone Dome architecture. This system integrates several advanced technologies, including radar detection, electro-optical and infrared sensors, electronic warfare jamming capabilities, and passive radio-frequency detection, to identify and neutralize threats effectively.

In a rapidly evolving technological landscape, Parsons Corporationโ€™s contracts and initiatives reflect a broader commitment to advancing the capabilities of the US military and ensuring the safety and effectiveness of its operations.
