Vice Admiral B. Sivakumar, Chief of Materiel (COM) of the Indian Navy, conducted a pivotal visit to the Naval Ship Repair Yard (NSRY) in Karwar on March 13, 2026. The primary objective of this visit was to assess the operational readiness and maintenance capabilities of the facility, especially in light of the increasing workload due to the expanding fleet of Indian Navy ships.
During the visit, Vice Admiral Sivakumar received a comprehensive briefing on the yard’s preparedness to manage the growing refit demands and heightened operational tempo.
