The recent closing ceremony of the Officers’ Advance Course in Computer Technology (OACT–36) at the Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering (MCEME) celebrated the successful completion of a significant training program aimed at enhancing the skills of military personnel in the realm of technology. The ceremony was overseen by Lieutenant General Neeraj Varshney, Commandant of MCEME and Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Electronics and Mechanical Engineers, who expressed his admiration for the officers’ commitment and technical expertise throughout the course.

A total of 13 officers completed the program, which included participation from five officers representing Friendly Foreign Countries (FFCs). During his address, the Commandant highlighted the critical importance of advanced computing and cyber security in the context of modern warfare, emphasizing how digital technologies are becoming integral to military strategies and operations.

The awards ceremony featured notable achievements among the participants. Major Abhijit Singh was honored with the Gold Medal and was recognized as the Overall Best Student, receiving the GOC-in-C ARTRAC Book Prize. Captain Poonam Chaudhary was awarded the Silver Medal for securing second position in the Order of Merit.

The event showcased a range of innovative projects developed during the course, focusing on areas such as cyber security, automation, and the incorporation of emerging digital technologies. Among the highlighted projects, two were recognized as the best: an Unmanned Water Surface Vehicle developed in collaboration with IIT Hyderabad, and an AI-Assisted Cyber Security Audit Automation Package. These projects exemplified the officers’ ability to merge innovation with engineering expertise and collaborative efforts.

The conclusion of OACT–36 signifies MCEME’s commitment to advancing technical and cyber capabilities within the military. This initiative not only enhances the skill sets of the officers but also contributes to building a more technologically advanced and capable armed force in the face of evolving global challenges.
