In a significant move to bolster India’s defense manufacturing and aviation technology, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Upendra Dwivedi visited Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) in Bengaluru. During his time at HAL, General Dwivedi received a comprehensive briefing on the upgrade and maintenance ecosystems that sustain Army Aviation platforms. A standout moment of his visit was General Dwivedi’s maiden sortie aboard the Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) Prachand. This aircraft, recognized as a flagship indigenous platform, is engineered for high-altitude warfare and precision strike missions. By undertaking this flight, the Army Chief gained valuable first-hand insights into the helicopter’s advanced performance and combat capabilities.
