In a ceremonial event held on April 21, 2026, Commodore Paramjit Singh officially took command of INS Hamla, the premier logistics training establishment of the Indian Navy. He takes over the position from Commodore Raahul Mahajan, marking a significant transition in leadership at this key institution.
Commodore Singh brings with him a wealth of experience in logistics and management, having built a distinguished career within the Indian Navy. He is an alumnus of several prestigious institutions, including the Naval Academy in Goa, the Defence Services Staff College (DSSC) in Wellington, and the College of Defence Management in Secunderabad. His educational background underpins his extensive knowledge and expertise in various facets of naval operations.
Throughout his naval career, he has held several pivotal appointments that underscore his capabilities and contributions to the service. Notable positions include Logistics Officer In Charge at the Naval Pay Office, Chief Staff Officer for Personnel and Administration at Headquarters, Karnataka Naval Area (HQKNA), and Chief Logistic Officer for Operational Logistics at HQ Eastern Naval Command. Additionally, he has served as the Base Victualling Officer in Visakhapatnam, Joint Director of Personnel at Naval Headquarters, and as Staff Officer to the Vice Chief of Naval Staff. He has also contributed as a Directing Staff member at INS Hamla, where he played a key role in shaping logistics training.
Commodore Singh’s operational experience further complements his profile; he has served on several major warships, including INS Vikramaditya, INS Investigator, INS Magar, and INS Brahmaputra. His expertise also extends to international operations, having represented India as a Staff Officer (Movement Control) during a United Nations mission in Sudan.
