Lieutenant General Virendra Vats, YSM, SM, VSM, the Director General of the National Cadet Corps (NCC), along with Major General Anupinder Bevli, VSM, the Additional Director General of the NCC Directorate for Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh, met with the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Shri Vinai Kumar Saxena, to discuss vital initiatives aimed at enhancing the outreach and effectiveness of the NCC in the region.
The meeting served as a platform to explore ways to increase youth engagement in NCC programs and to strengthen cadet development initiatives throughout the Union Territory. Both General Vats and General Bevli emphasized the importance of empowering the youth through a structured framework that focuses on leadership, discipline, character-building, and nation-building.
Officials present at the meeting reiterated the pivotal role of the NCC in molding responsible, motivated, and socially aware citizens. They highlighted the significance of providing greater opportunities for youth participation, particularly in remote and strategically important areas such as Ladakh. This initiative is seen as crucial for integrating the youth into national development while fostering a sense of responsibility and community service.
The discussions also put a spotlight on the necessity of bolstering institutional support, improving training infrastructure, and expanding developmental opportunities available to NCC cadets across Ladakh. Reinforcing these areas is expected to better prepare the cadets for future challenges and instill a strong sense of duty towards their nation.
As a result, both parties expressed their commitment to advancing these initiatives, ultimately aiming to cultivate a generation that is not only aware of its social responsibilities but also motivated to contribute positively to society.
