Lieutenant General R. S. Sundaram, SM, VSM, the Director General of Recruiting, recently visited Danapur to evaluate the Indian Army’s recruitment-related initiatives and assess the operational readiness of facilities involved in the recruitment process. This visit is part of ongoing efforts to enhance the recruitment framework and attract talented individuals to serve in the Armed Forces.
During his visit, Lt Gen Sundaram engaged in discussions with Major General Ravinder Singh, the Additional Director General of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) for the Bihar and Jharkhand Directorate. Their conversations revolved around effective youth outreach strategies, raising recruitment awareness, and the pivotal role the NCC plays in motivating young individuals to consider a career in the military.
A key highlight of the visit was a tour of the Online Common Entrance Examination (CEE) Centre, where the General Officer carefully reviewed the arrangements and operational readiness for upcoming recruitment examinations. He emphasized the importance of ensuring a transparent, efficient, and seamless process for all candidates taking the Army recruitment exams and assessed measures in place to uphold integrity throughout the selection process.
Lt Gen Sundaram took a comprehensive look at various facets of the examination system, including infrastructure and administrative procedures designed to facilitate candidate experiences. His inquiries aimed at confirming that fairness is maintained throughout the recruitment process, ensuring that every aspiring soldier has an equal chance at selection.
The visit also included an interaction with Brigadier R. K. Bora, Commandant of the Bihar Regimental Centre. This engagement allowed Lt Gen Sundaram to speak directly with Agniveers currently undergoing training. Through these discussions, he gained invaluable insights into the current experiences of newly inducted soldiers and their feedback on the recruitment system.
Additionally, important topics such as the aspirations and challenges faced by young recruits were explored, allowing the General Officer to understand the expectations of candidates from both military service and the recruitment journey.
