Major General Anil Kumar, KC, has officially taken over as the Commandant of the High Altitude Warfare School (HAWS) in Gulmarg. This prestigious military institution is renowned globally for its training programs focused on mountain and high-altitude warfare. His appointment signifies an important leadership transition at HAWS, which is tasked with preparing both Indian and international military personnel for operations in some of the most arduous terrains.
Lieutenant General Devendra Sharma, who serves as the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Army Training Command (ARTRAC), extended his congratulations to Major General Kumar, wishing him success as he embarks on this crucial role.
With a distinguished military career, Major General Anil Kumar is a recipient of the Kirti Chakra, India’s second-highest peacetime gallantry award.
