Chief of the Army Staff General Dhiraj Seth visited the Kripan Division under the Indian Army’s Trishakti Corps in Sikkim on November 7, 2026, to assess the formation’s readiness, the security environment and the measures being taken to improve combat effectiveness.
According to the briefing during the visit, General Seth reviewed operational priorities and the steps adopted by the formation to stay prepared for emerging challenges. The discussion centred on technology integration, battlefield agility and future-ready warfighting capabilities.
Focus on VIJAY Vision and Integrated Warfighting
A major part of the review related to the Trishakti Corps’ efforts to realise the VIJAY vision. The emphasis remained on technology absorption, operational agility and integrated warfighting, with the Army Chief examining initiatives intended to improve combat effectiveness through modern technology and better coordination.
The discussions also underlined the need for a force that is technologically advanced and adaptable, so that it can respond quickly to changing battlefield conditions while sustaining a high level of operational readiness.

HADR Preparedness and Civil-Military Coordination
General Seth also highlighted the importance of planning for Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) operations. He stressed the need for regular joint exercises and close military-civil coordination to ensure swift and effective responses during natural disasters and other emergencies.
This point is especially relevant in the Himalayan region, where difficult terrain and exposure to landslides, floods and extreme weather can complicate relief work. The Army Chief called for advance planning, joint training and effective communication between military formations and civil authorities.

Interaction with Troops and Message to Families
During the visit, General Dhiraj Seth interacted with soldiers and officers of the Kripan Division and commended them for their professionalism, dedication and unwavering commitment to duty. He appreciated their efforts in maintaining operational preparedness and upholding the highest standards of military discipline and service.
He also extended warm Deepawali greetings to all ranks and their families, acknowledging the contributions and sacrifices of soldiers serving in demanding operational conditions away from their loved ones.
The Trishakti Corps, also known as XXXIII Corps, is an important operational formation of the Indian Army’s Eastern Command. It is tasked with maintaining military preparedness in strategically sensitive areas of the eastern Himalayan region, where difficult terrain and extreme weather demand strong adaptability and readiness.
The visit reflected the Army’s continuing emphasis on modernisation, technology-driven warfare, integrated operations and disaster response preparedness. Through its focus on the VIJAY vision and enhanced combat capabilities, the Trishakti Corps continues to strengthen its ability to meet current and emerging security challenges.
General Seth’s engagement with the troops also reaffirmed the Army’s commitment to a motivated, professionally competent and future-ready fighting force capable of safeguarding national security under challenging operational conditions.
